High water levels and boater safety

High water levels prompt reminders about local watercraft controls, boating safety

Recent weather conditions means that many lakes, rivers and streams in Michigan are experiencing higher than normal water levels. The Michigan Department of Natural Resources encourages boaters, anglers and others to keep enjoying the water, but to do so with safety in mind and a clear understanding of state boating rules and regulations and local watercraft controls.

High Lake Levels – Reduce Boat Wake

With the lake level so high, we want to remind boaters (and Jet Skiers) to please limit your speeds and control your wake until the level subsides. The high lake levels have already damaged property of many residents, and limiting your boat’s wake will help reduce additional impact on personal property.

Siebers Cove Update

For anyone who’s interested, the Siebers Cove (now “The Cove”) developer is back on the Planning Commission agenda for Tuesday, March 26 @ 7pm. THIS WILL BE A PUBLIC HEARING on his latest plan.
